Whitfied Well Dressing and Fun Day - Saturday 20th September

Glossop SNT - Community Engagement in Whitfield

PCSO Buller from Glossop SNT attended the Whitfield Well Dressing Parade and Fun Day event - firstly setting off from Whitfield Avenue at 12 pm then onto the Well Blessing event itself at the Wells on Whitfield Cross.

This was then followed  by the Fun Day events and activities held on the recreation ground, off Wood St, Whitfield.

The weather wasn't on our side today - but there was a fantastic turn out for the parade to the well blessing - with members of the community then going onto the recreation ground for some fantastic entertainment and fun, no matter what the weather could throw at them,  with coffee/tea also on offer at the Community Centre on Ebenezer St, Whitfield.

For the younger members of the community attedning the event there was Go Karting, Circus Skills, Face Painting, Drumming and lots more to keep them entertained. For the rest of us there was some great singing and music to help forget the poor weather.

The team were there today to engage with the community during the event and to be available to discuss any issues that they (the community from Whitfield) may have had,

A massive thank you to the organisers, volunteers, dignatories and attendees for today - a good community get together showing lots of pluck ,in the adverse Glossop weather, today.
